I did go forth and see Up yesterday, and for what it's worth, I give it a Two Thumbs fully extended UP. Damn good movie, it managed to be inspiring with a fair amount of sentiment without ever crossing over into sugar shock overload, and I left the theater in a mood that was vastly on an UPswing compared to my earlier feeling of grumpy ugh.
Without getting into specific spoilers for the movie, but just some generalized commentary:
If you need or want to feel like life is still out there waiting for you to get your ass in gear and live -- and it's entirely doable simply by recognizing this simple fact, and that the things you take for granted can still supply you with a feeling of happiness and satisfaction with a mere difference in how you look at it --
GO SEE THIS MOVIE.
Or if you simply want to see a good movie. Period.
Pixar never disappoints, but I'd say this one has made me the happiest in a long time.
