NCIS

I like this guest star chick - can we keep her? And I love the little moments that show everyone is still grieving for Kate - even (perhaps in his own screwball way especially) Tony. So... once upon a time Gibbs was rather like Tony in personality? LOL! Might explain why he seems so amused by Tony's antics most of the time.

and Boston Legal aka reasons to love Alan Shore:

"I had to distract them. It was either that or drop my pants."

"I caught Tara laughing with another man."
"Are you sure she wasn't just kissing him?"

"I've lost her."

"Did we obtain justice today?"

The range between the comedy and the heartbreak was just... Man. Seeing the heartbreak Alan was feeling as he sees Tara slippping away from him - it's really testimony to how much he actually cares for her that he couldn't even joke/make with the funny when dealing with the situation. Humor has always been his out, his way of dealing/covering his real feelings, and he lost that protective shield. Awww! I do wish we had gotten an actual breakup scene/moment between Alan and Tara. Perhaps we'll get it next ep, because at this point it just seems like Alan is assuming Tara is lost to him and is so messed up by the thought of it that he can't even fight to keep her. Or perhaps he's of the school of thought "if you love someone let them go." Can't *make* a person love you back the way you may want them to.

Have I mentioned that I love whenever Alan closes a case in court? Because how he formats and presents his argument... no matter how much humor he may inject into the proceedings along the way, when it comes closing time he really has this ability to make one agree with his perspective, regardless of how damning the case may have been against him up to that point. And there was a little twist with him actually philibustering until Denny gave him the thumbs up. I've never seen him rely on the outside perspective of when enough was enough before. It was a great way to showcase how quickly this guy can think on his feet, to continue adding to his argument until they had achieved their "reasonable doubt".

And Alan's questioning of whether winning the case was justice seems to hint at his honorable side - he obviously will serve the client, but he wants to know for himself whether he did the right thing by getting the client off, and in this case he just doesn't know. And Denny's enthusiasm for another murder case, preferably a pyschotic... lol.

And in other news... Bernie's dead! That guy was getting *seriously* creepy/scary, so on the one hand it doesn't surprise me. On the other hand... Catherine is in some seriously hot water and will have a sticky defense situation, because of the whole client confidentially issue, unless because Bernie's dead attorney priviledge no longer applies. Not being a lawyer, I don't know.

Next week looks seriously entertaining. Can't wait!

And now, I think I'll go watch Serenity again.
