*snork* Can we make this, like, the Winchester Motto, or something? Or maybe a bumpersticker? Or, well, fridge magnets that stick to skin? Cuz all 3 could have benefited from having this slapped on their foreheads on occasion. XD
Broken and lost.
You know, when you said this, I started thinking about Ava and how just not quite sane she was by then end. It's like over time, something broke inside her. And now that you talk about Sam in this way, I'm starting to see the parallels between Sam and Ava, like he just can't keep doing this anymore. He can't keep letting members of his family die for him. He can't let Dean put himself in the line of fire to protect him anymore. It has to stop, and it doesn't matter how it stops anymore. It just has to be over.
